EXAM POLICY

Here at ICS International School the school policy towards exams dictates that if a student does not attend an exam the same student or students will receive no marks, furthermore if a student is absent for a test or exam, the student or students will not be allowed to re-sit the exam. 8

This policy was introduced for two main reasons; the first reason is because in the past when the school gave an average mark for missed tests, a number of students were ranked top of the class without taking any tests or exams, many Parents and Guardians complained to say that this practice was unfair. Secondly, students who were allowed to take the test after being absent for the original test were contacting their classmates to obtain the answers to the test, thereby giving them an unfair advantage over their classmates. If a student breaks the exam rules while taking the exam, he/she may receive no marks for that exam, depending on the seriousness of the offence, which includes, copying of another student’s paper, speaking, bringing notes into the exam, sharing the answers and any other form of cheating. PREPARATION

PREPARATION CLASSES

Before sitting for CAIE international examinations, students will be given the opportunity to attend a preparation course designed to prepare them for the upcoming exams. These special classes are usually held on Saturday mornings

DETAILED ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORTS

ICS International School in partnership with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) uses annual progression tests to determine a student’s progress in the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science. The progression tests enable us to provide parents and students with a detailed report pointing out the student’s strengths and weaknesses. These reports are also very valuable to teachers when planning for the new school year.

FIELD TRIPS

ICS International School has a policy of providing educational field trips for our students. The majority of the field trips will have an educational purpose but we aim to provide one recreational and fun outing towards the end of the school year.

YEAR ON YEAR IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME

ICS International School Aims to be at the forefront of providing education in Cambodia. For this reason, we continually strive to improve our services in line with any new developments in the field of education and competing schools in the area. We will continue to improve and strengthen our facilities, services and teaching methods year in and year out.

Kindergarten or Primary and Secondary report books are issued by the school on a termly basis. Each report book will include results from tests given to the student for that term and observations from the homeroom teacher regarding strengths and weaknesses.
